結(jié)果狀語從句常由so… that或such…that引導(dǎo)，掌握這兩個句型，首先要了解so 和 such與其后的詞的搭配規(guī)律。

so和 such

結(jié)果狀語從句其規(guī)律由so與such的不同詞性決定。such 是形容詞，修飾名詞或名詞詞組，so 是副詞，只能修飾形容詞或副詞。 so 還可與表示數(shù)量的形容詞many, few, much, little連用，形成固定搭配。

such+a/an+形容詞+名=so+形容詞+a/an+名

so foolish such a fool

so nice a flower such a nice flower

so many / few flowers such nice flowers

so much / little money such rapid progress

so many people such a lot of people

（ so many 已成固定搭配，a lot of 雖相當(dāng)于 many，但 a lot of 為名詞性的，只能用such搭配。）

so…that與 such…that之間的轉(zhuǎn)換既為 so與such之間的轉(zhuǎn)換。

例句：

The boy is so young that he can't go to school.

He is such a young boy that he can't go to school.

結(jié)果狀語從句的從句部分是補充說明主句中謂語動詞發(fā)生的結(jié)果的，通常位于主句之后。結(jié)果從句中通常不用情態(tài)助動詞，但must,can,could除外。such用在（形容詞）名詞之前；而so要用在形容詞/副詞之前，so或that有時會省略掉。以下逐一介紹高考中常見的引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語從句的詞：

1. so that可以引導(dǎo)目的狀語從句， 也可以引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語從句。

例如：

He worried so that he couldn’t sleep.

他急得睡不著。(so that引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語從句)

It was very cold, so that the river froze.

天氣寒冷， 河水都結(jié)冰了。(so that引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語從句)

I came to the class early so that I could see the classmate beside me.

我趕早來上課， 以便早點看到我旁邊的同學(xué)。(so that引導(dǎo)目的狀語從句)

so+形容詞+that

Some people were so moved by the sight that they began to cry.

一些人對此情景如此感動，以致開始哭了出來。

The wind was so strong that he could hardly move forward.

風(fēng)刮得如此猛烈，以致他幾乎是寸步難行。

so+副詞+that

The ball struck him so hard that he nearly fell into the water.

球重重地打在了他身上，使他幾乎落到水里去。

so+形容詞+a+單數(shù)名詞+that

It was so hot a day that they wanted to go swimming.

天那么熱，他們想去游泳。

so+many/few（+復(fù)數(shù)名詞）+that

There are so many picture-story books that the boy won't leave.

有那么多連環(huán)畫書，小孩都不想離開了。

so+much/little+單數(shù)不可數(shù)名詞）+that

There is so much contradictory advice about exercising that you become confused.

對于鍛煉有那么多互相矛盾的意見，以致都把你給弄糊涂了。

He gave me so little time that it was impossible for me to finish the work on time.

他給我的時間如此少，要我按時完成任務(wù)是不可能的。

2. 表示“如此……以致……”的“so...that...”和“such... that...”均可引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語從句， 其中的such 是形容詞， 修飾名詞； so 是副詞， 修飾形容詞或副詞， 具體的搭配形式是：

(1)“so+adj./adv.+that”， “so+adj.(+a/an)+n.+that”；

(2)“such(+a/an)(+adj.)+n.+that”。

例如： He speaks so fast that no one can catch him. 他說話太快， 無人聽得明白。

There is so rapid an increase in population that a food shortage is caused. 人口增長如此迅速， 以致造成了糧食短缺。

Our country has so much coal that she can export large quantities. 我們國家的煤炭非常豐富， 可以大量出口。(so與表示數(shù)量的代詞many， few， much， little等連用已經(jīng)形成固定搭配， 這些場合下不能換用such的對應(yīng)結(jié)構(gòu)表示)

The shop sells so expensive goods that I want to buy nothing in it. 這家商店出售的貨物價格昂貴， 以致我在里面不想購買任何東西。

He’s such a good person that we mustn’t blame him. 他是這樣好的人， 我們不能怪他。

They are such fine teachers that we all hold them in great respect. 他們是非常好的老師， 我們對他們極為尊敬。

It is such nice weather that I would like to go to the beach. 天氣如此之好， 我想去海灘。

如果結(jié)果狀語從句的主語與主句的主語相同， 可用so (adj./adv.) as to取代該結(jié)果狀語從句， 注意體會以下例句： The weather was bad, so as to make a good photo hard to take. 天氣惡劣， 以致難以拍出來好照片。

He was so kind as to phone for a taxi for the patient. 他是如此熱心， 以至于他為病人打電話叫了出租車。

How could you be so stupid as to believe him 你怎么這么笨， 竟相信了他的話

在結(jié)果狀語從句主從句主語一致的情況下，可省去從句主語，從句謂語變非謂語。這時，前面的so ...就要換一個形式來陳述。so是中性程度副詞，如果從句是肯定句，那么so就要換為enough。如果從句是否定句，那么so就要換成too。要注意的是：enough只能在所修飾詞的后面。例：He is so old that he can go to school alone.省略式為：He is old enough to go to school alone.
