since my graduation from primary school, until now, every time on my birthday i make the same wish. i wish my parents will not fight anymore. i am not complaining that they gave me a bad childhood, they just fight so much! i am unhappy but that does not mean they do not love me. they do! they love me with all their heart. i love my parents also; i want them to live a happy life as well.
i want to travel this great country of ours. i want to see the beauty of our country. i want to see the miracles that made this country great! i want to go from the east to west, from the north all the way down to the south! i have a dream, that one day i can travel and see my country with my family and friends! if that is not possible, seeing my country on my own is good enough also.

i don’t know if i am being sensitive here. i remember us sprint out the door to assemble because we are running late. i remember us complaining about the miserable food when it’s time for lunch. i remember us sitting weirdly comfortable in a cool dark place when other classes were sweating. i remember us sharing jaw-dropping details about our lives and feel connected to others. i remember all those moments of rapture and ecstasy, all those senses of déjà vu, all those smiles of genuine happiness.
it’s like suddenly, i am no longer a prosaic girl living a plain life. it’s been a long time since the last time i didn’t regard myself as a catastrophe. as a lonely strong hope for the future made me the girl on fire. as i spoke with some friends of my pastimes and passions, words of such silky texture poured out from my soul with unparalleled candor and cadence. the voice that issued from my lips was at once richer, deeper, stronger than i had ever produced. it was as though an inner self, a core essence, had broken free and taken control. i broke out of my niche!
anyway, i shouldn’t be too excited because it’s just five days. even though i have already found some friends with extraordinarily similar interests as i do. even though this is breaking news for me because i enjoyed be in this together finally. even though the words of encouragements faded, i still recall them from time to time to taste it all over again. i swear i’m not severed from reality. momentarily, it’s just impossible to describe all the details that happened during 5 days. i just need to speak all these things about how delighted i am to be in this class and try to be in tranquility…
i am a relatively total stranger to my new school. but it’s such a sensory bombardment for me even to think about it. i wanna be a part of something i don’t know. a fledging dragonfly is ready. i believe that the monarch will be crowned. may the best man win! you are gonna hear class 7 roar!

however, there are two sides to the argument, so what of the internet. while it could lighten our life, it could also turn into evil. it started with some of these arguments—well, it is argument at first—then the situation seems out of control: people start to curse and scold each other just because they have different opinions. people became more and more aggressive, seditious, and insulting, and later on, with the “human-flesh searching” involved, the situation gets even worse. those are what we called “network of violence”, they are still happening, and still going on.

the reason we define ourselves as human is because we have some natural instincts to care for and respect other people. in other words, we are pursuing the universal brotherhood, a peaceful world of free minds. it is humanism that keeps our society moving on and on.
as one of the most important inventions in our time, internet has changed the way of our life tremendously. it has changed the way we express and communicate with each other. it has made it possible for us to meet each other without distance; it has made it easier for us to know and to comprehend each other.
however not only some changes has it brought, but also brought on some challenges. net has anarchy in its dna, it’s always been about anonymity, playing with your own identity and messing with other people’s heads. it is a challenge, it challenges our self-discipline that we are proud of, it challenges our humanity that we are proud of. sure technology promises us more freedom but it doesn’t mean that we should leave our civilization behind.
that’s why we need a guideline to light up our path, to lead us. in this technologically advanced world, what we need to do is to avoid the misuse of technology, but to take it as an accelerator, a lube or a navigator on our high way to create a better world, a harmonious society.
